It is said that “not being in Cai Rang floating market means not knowing the land of Tay Do – an old name of Can Tho”. Cai Rang floating market, one of the famous floating markets of the Southwest, specializes in selling fruits and agricultural products of the whole region.
Every early morning, hundred boats gather together where their owners start to sell agri - products. To be recognized easily, they hang out product samples on a long bamboo (called Cay Beo) in front of the boats, so that they do not need to cry their wares as in mainland market.

Approximately 400 to 500 boats filled with fruits, vegetables, and other products are anchored along the banks of river. For purchasing process, goods are shifted at inland markets or small boats take them for delivery along canals. The hustle and bustle atmosphere here is different from urban's. Voices of people bargaining mixed rowers' singing and sound of paddle boats, which make living of local people become lively. Furthermore, various colors of fruits, flowers and goods combine with bright blue and white color of sky adorn the picturesque floating market preciously.

Despite opening in the early morning at 4.00 am, most of rafts and boats are crowded actually from 3.00 am. The first activity in early morning always is transport goods or fruits and food from the land to Cai Be floating market and then arranging them carefully. The way traders arrange their products is also an "art". For example, they usually arrange fruits into a pile, which looks like a small colorful mountain, to attract customers.
